Did you download linksys_wrt3200acm-squashfs-factory.img from the below website?

Yes to both questions, and I also tried openwrt 21.02.1, and another 3rd party firmware (divested wrt snapshot r17859) just to see if it would take anything aside from default linksys to no avail. Shot in the dark here but could doing a u-boot rescue possibly break the logjam or is it more likely to fulfill my routers deep desire to function only as a paperweight?

Well it couldn't hurt to try at this point.

There is that odd warning you get from u-boot:

Code: Select all

Warning: Unsupported freq mode for 667Mhz configured(20)
Warning: Unsupported freq mode for 667Mhz configured(20)

Went back to using DD-WRT on my DLink-DIR890L but it's nowhere near as useful/fast/stable as my WRT1900 and I have been bothered by the WRT3200 problem for too long, so I ran through all previous solutions again just to ensure I hadn't missed something, then I started poking around the uboot console with "U-Boot Depthcharge" https://github.com/nccgroup/depthcharge
Had fun, but found nothing new/pertaining to my router's zealotry for proprietary software.. Have you run into anyone else with similar problems during my haitus?
